Israel is without a doubt the best country in the Middle East for gay and lesbian individuals to live. Gay people can serve openly in the Israeli military. Additionally, Israeli governments have been promoting social equality for LGBT people for more than a decade. Transgender and lesbian visitors are also openly welcome. This is particularly the case when it comes to gay establishments.
The Blue Moon Resort for Gay Men is just that: a clothing-optional hotel for gay men, and there doesn't seem to be another hotel in Las Vegas quite like it. A budget property, it doesn't quite measure up to other hotels in the area that offer more modern rooms, but most guests agree it's still a good value for the money. Amenities include a steam room with lockers and a movie room, free continental breakfast, and a free weekly barbecue. Patrons range in age from young to old, and the atmosphere is casual -- expect to see nude men by the pool. Rooms are clean and comfortable with large beds, but they have dated bathrooms and tiny tube TVs. Gay men who want to be among other gay men will find this hotel very welcoming. Blue Moon Resort for Gay Men is housed in an unassuming plain white building, but the interior is sleek and modern.
Dubai is regarded as the Vegas of the Middle East. Just like Las Vegas, it's a loud, glitzy, super touristic and very modern city, with plenty of things to do. It's also a major transport hub, making it the perfect stopover to break up long trips. We've been to Dubai several times, mainly to visit some of our gay friends living there. Before we went for our first trip, we had serious concerns about our safety because of the harsh anti-gay laws.
